Royal Temple - Wat Ratcha Orasaram Ratchaworawiharn

Wat Ratcha Orasaram Ratchaworawiharn is a first class royal temple dedicated to king Rama III. The temple was built since the Ayutthaya period (sometime between 1351 to 1767) but was renovated by King Rama III when he was Prince of the Kingdom (Prince Thap).

Prince Thap was the commander who led the Thai army to engage the Burmese army in Kanchanaburi Province.  Prior to the war, the Prince participated in a ceremony, blessing the warriors before engaging the enemy.  After a victorious return, the prince had the Temple renovated under his name.  He later became King Rama III.
